This is the second last Summer of Fun posts I'm doing this month (I'll have another lot on 26/1/2016)
This batch of posts first appeared on the blog five years ago today (18/1/2011), 16/1/2012, 22/7/2012, 27/8/2015, 6/10/2010,
Our first strip in this bundle is Roger the Dodger from the 1975 Beano Summer Special (art by Tom Lavery)
Here is some more Roger from the same special
Next up, we have a Calculator Kid strip. For the stats on this strip, visit my post on Terry Bave elsewhere in the blog. This story is from the 1979 Cheeky Summer Special.
Now for a Whoopee! holiday guide, a regular weekly feature from the early days of Whoopee! by Barrie Appleby. This two pager first appeared in No. 5 of Whoopee, dated 6/4/1974.
next up is Ivor Lott and Tony Broke from the 1982 holiday special, drawn by Jim Crocker.
Now, as an added bonus, I have the WABAC machine set for the year 1935. For this I have Weary Willie and Tired Tim from the Whitsun issue of Illustrated Chips, dated 30/5/1935. Art by Percy Cocking.
There will be one more batch of Summer of Fun posts which will feature previously posted material, and the previously posted strips will be complete. I will do that final bundle later this month, with an all new post before February.
Still have 600+ posts before I finish the full reconstruction though ;)
